The Glorious Stakes sees last year's victor Al Aasy bidding to repeat that achievement. The eight year old should not be unduly troubled by the ground and course conditions with the Sea the Stars gelding under Jim Crowley a strong finisher. His Haggas stablemate Candleford has performed admirably over this distance this season and the Kingman sired colt under Tom Marquand won well at Beverley last month. He is lightly raced and can step up here. Mount Atlas enjoys give in the ground and won last time at Ascot. Andrew Baldings Masar sired gelding can progress here under David Probert. Therefore with Al Aasy short in the market bigger priced plays would be my interest in this contest.

Likely favourite French Duke was a shade disappointing at Royal Ascot but it was his first run of the season, his one success came at Goodwood but he's a horse who can get kean so this step up in trip is questionable. Sam Hawkens has won his last two starts and is starting to look like the finished article, looked a non Stayer when trying this trip twice last season but now a four year old this son of Galileo might just be strong enough to get the trip. Duraji makes his handicap debut with Ryan Moore in the saddle for the first time, shrewd trainer Dermot Weld may have targeted this race for some time, this full brother to Ghaiyyath shouldn't be taken lightly. Galashiels represents Nicky Henderson here, was purchased from France at the end of last season and holds some strong form. Soft ground wouldn't be an issue and Jamie Spencer abandons a Fitri Hay owned horse to ride Galashiels.

Term Of Endearment comes here slight favourite in the early market having won this race last year and seemingly has a like for Goodwood. Would be slightly worried about the run last time out and you would be more confident had she ran a better race previously.
Goodie Two Shoes is on a four timer though all the rain recently and the clerk persistent to over water the ground you would have to worry the ground may of gone against her
My preference is for Danielle who I think has a jockey upgrade with James Doyle on board rather than Rab Havlin. Any rain wont have harmed her chances. She does have a big race in her and based on her pedigree she should enjoy the extend trip this race gives. John Gosden can get one fit and ready first time out so I wouldn't worry about the absence.

With 28 runners set to go to post it’s definitely worth backing at least two runners in this contest.
First up we have Twilight Calls who hasn’t been at his best for a while however in his only start at this venue produced an eye-catching display
Similarly Toca Madera has gone well at Goodwood in the past and with an intriguing jockey booked for the ride could outrun his odds.
Last years race winner and runner up Get It and Apollo One are capable of going close once again and Orazio is another who deserves a mention.

Mudbir was much better for the drop back down to seven furlongs at Sandown and could kick on better for that. He’s related to Mostahdaf so maybe he will be better as he ages but he’s still respected today. Yah Mo Be There wasn’t disgraced in the Jersey and the form of that race has worked out. He also has strong claims. The penny looked like it started to drop for Headmaster, at Haydock. He’s regally bred and might well shape a lot better than his current mark. His potential upside earns him the vote today.

A maiden stakes for 2 year olds over 7 furlongs is up next, and the market rightfully headed by Aidan O’Briens Isaac Newton. Beaten a nose on debut by his stablemate, there was cut in the ground that day so should have no problem with conditions. There’s no telling what price he will go off but he should win.
Exclusive Code finished behind a subsequent winner on debut and comes from a stable that always does well with 2yos. At a bigger price Island Bear has ran two nice races in defeat and the form was franked here on Tuesday in the Vintage Stakes, he could easily run into the money
ISAAC NEWTON (WIN)

A lot will depend on the state of the ground, with the deluge on Thursday and potentially drying conditions could make this hard work.
Gladius is an obvious place to start, with an attractive profile, his price will factored in accordingly.
Two horses that won’t mind the ground include Alpha Crucis, who loves it here, but is arguably handicapped to his limit. The other is the selection, Silent Film.
He ran well in the Golden Mile here last year off an eight pound higher mark. This is certainly an easier option this time round, and he could be value to grab a place at least.
