After a blistering week with a host of winning tips last Saturday we return to tackle all of ITV's live races from Newbury and Newcastle. 13:40 NEWBURY
French Ship produced a dominant display to win a competitive looking handicap at Cheltenham last month and as such deserves their spot as a likely race favourite however an 8lb rise in the weights makes this a tougher test.
Trainer Ben Pauling has his yard in decent form of late and his six-year-old Personal Ambition has a solid each-way chance. He returned from a sizable absence to claim a credible fourth on seasonal reappearance and the form of his Grade 2 Novice Hurdle victory over Jango Baie looks strong. Competed in some quality novice chases last term and should be fit for another crack over the smaller obstacles.

14:00 NEWCASTLE
The long awaited return of superstar Constitution Hill and the big 'will he' or 'won't he' conundrum. If he was even 85% close to his best then he'd win this race doing handstands but the best he's done in his last three starts is a fifth placed effort. Prior to that run he fell on his previous two outings. It's tough to go against such a legend of the sport but the eight-year-old champion is hard to trust no matter when his trainer Nicky Henderson has to say. Could he be susceptible to younger horses who are in-form and the answer is simply yes. Not wanting to be a party pooper I think it's safe to say we'd all rejoice if Henderson's hero finished in front but from a punting angle you're forced to look elsewhere.
Anzadam and The New Lion look the obvious alternatives as the young pretenders to the crown and of the pair it's Dan Skelton's charge who gets the nod. A Cheltenham Festival winner who's unbeaten in five career starts and hails from a bang in form yard. A slight question over this shorter trip but his battling tenacity might be enough to see him tough enough to fight out a close finish.
THE NEW LION (WIN)

Despite the burden of top-weight Live Conti and Give It To Me Oj have competed at a higher level than the rest and the pair renew the rivalry that saw them finish 2nd and 4th in a Grade 1 at Aintree last season. Live Conti makes his handicap debut and looks the classiest horse in the lineup, at odds greater than 5/1 at the time of writing, he looks a solid each-way option if he's fit after 240-days on the sidelines.
Viyanni and Indemnity deserve a mention and could be the ones who pick up the pieces if the two at the top of the race card fail to deliver.

The big handicap of the day looks as competitive as ever with last time out Cheltenham Festival winner Myretown heading the betting. His demolition of the field in the Ultima was something to behold and looks to be the new stable star for trainer Lucinda Russell. Potentially taking the mantle from Cobh Rambler could he be a future Grand National contender? For those looking to back him for Aintree's big race in April I'd urge punters to do so pre-race because if he produces another convincing victory, his odds are likely to shorten. All that being said it might be worth looking for each-way value elsewhere, and The Changing Man, who finished second in the Ultima back in March has far more favourable terms when it comes to the weights. Trainer Joe Tizzard has his horses going well, and with a recent run under his belt, he may strip fitter than some of his rivals.
Another runner who may also have a fitness edge after making their return last month is Hyland. A horse who's knocked on the door plenty of times in big runner handicaps, he could go close once again.
A winner of the Paddy Power Gold Cup two weeks back, Panic Attack demands plenty of respect and hasn't been crippled immeasurably by the handicapper for his Cheltenham success.
Others worth noting are Monty's Star, Spanish Harlem, and Perceval Legallois, who could sneak into the money but similar to Myretown might have Aintree's bigger obstacles as their seasonal target.
Near the bottom of the weights, Inch House wasn't disgraced when last seen and could outrun their odds.

Of the more fancied runners, Deafening Silence, Jasmin De Grugy and Konfusion it's the green and gold silks of JP McManus' Jasmin De Grugy that looks to have the better chance of the aforementioned trio. A second in a very competitive affair over in Ireland looks some of the strongest recent form and as the youngest of the three has the most room for improvement.
However a chance is taken with bottom-weight Hold That Taught who hails from the yard of Venetia Williams. At the age of 10 he's entering the latter stages of his career but he wasn't disgraced when fourth 17-days ago. A winner off a higher mark he's got a favourable weight and looks an each-way option in what looks a tough race to decipher.

15:35 NEWBURY
The final race shown by the ITV cameras this Saturday and it's another competitive affair from Newbury.
Former course and distance winner Javert Allen should make any punters shortlist after an encouraging reappearance run three weeks back. Just 6lbs above their last winning mark so shouldn't be far away.
Fellow C&D victor General Medrano wasn't far away in a much better race when last seen and looks likely to go closer this time around however he may prefer a slightly longer trip but it'd be a shock if he didn't make the frame.
An intriguing runner, based on the jockey and trainer combination, is the ultra-consistent Doyen Du Bar who is partnered by jockey Harry Cobden. Despite their multiple years in the game Cobden has never ridden a horse for trainer Nicky Richards and the pair team up for the first time. The nine-year-old gelding makes his yard debut having not finishing outside of the top-three in his last five starts. Another place in the first three could be on the cards.
At much bigger odds Irish-raider Luminous Light is a recent winner who should be given a closer look, especially if attracting betting support.
