RACE DAY INTERNATIONAL

Ka Ying Rising returns, seeking his 20th consecutive win and I have no doubt he will put on a dazzling show again but there are two other Group 1s with betting propositions.

08:45 SHA TIN - Champions Mile

A world class field goes to post headed by Japans Jantar Mantar, he has 4 Group 1 wins to his name but disappointed on his only prior visit to this venue, although there was excuses the locals definitely hold an advantage. Voyage Bubble has been a fine servant over the years but with stall 12 and his below par recent runs I would be surprised if he was involved.

I think the 4yo’s hold the key to this race, having previewed their triple crown i have made clear my love for Invincible Ibis, he is able to sit close enough to the pace but has the finishing kick to put the race to bed. Little Paradise is a danger but he does need luck in running which won’t be easy to come by in this competitive affair.

INVINCIBLE IBIS (E/W)

09:55 SHA TIN - QEII Cup

Romantic Warrior is one of the greatest horses HK has ever seen, now with 13 Group 1s to his name the locals will be expectant but they may well be disappointed. Masquerade Ball is actually rated 3lbs higher and it’s easy to see why given his close 2nd to Calandagan in the Japan Cup, he has won off of a break before and is a big danger.

Royal Champion has gone from strength to Strength since joining Karl Burke and his impressive win of the Neom Turf will have set him up perfectly for this. He is a good each way price given I don’t think Sosie will appreciate the drop in trip returning from a short lay-off

ROYAL CHAMPION (E/W)
