RACE DAY INTERNATIONAL - LONGCHAMP

Toby Darby crosses The Channel and heads to Longchamp for the French Guineas and best of the action this Sunday. 14:40 LONGCHAMP First up the boys, Puerto Rico won two Group 1s on these shores to end his 2yo career and is a worthy favourite for last years winning connections. Hankelow has been highly touted by Karl Burke and heads here over the English & Irish equivalent in the hope for softer ground. Of the French contingent it will be interesting to see how Wootton Centurion this will only be his 3rd run but he is unbeaten and falls into the ‘could be anything category’. I am going to side with Hankelow, he should be a double figure price and should make the frame.

15:25 LONGCHAMP

Diamond Necklace was high on my shortlist for the English equivalent and as a result I think she will be tough to beat here, she won the Marcel Boussac to end her 2yo season, Green Spirit was only a length behind and went off 9/4 that day. With a reappearance under her belt and double figures on offer it seems far too big a gap despite stall 14. Maintain stays further and will be finishing off late for Colin Keane.
