RACE DAY INTERNATIONAL - MEYDAN

Toby Derby focuses on three group races at Meydan this Saturday.

15:25 MEYDAN

Tuz returns as a 9 year old but he will still be hot property in the betting. Last seen 3rd in the Golden Shaheen prior to that he had won 6 times in a row over C&D. El Nasseeb faced an unlikely reversal in form LTO but I feel as though that was due to the poor/change in tactics and that mistake won’t be made again today. He usually sits off the pace it was strange they went forward and ended up paying the price. At big double figure odds Cats By Five run a big race, a winner the last twice he seems to be rejuvenated this term I can see him being best of the remainder

CATS BY FIVE (E/W)

16:00 MEYDAN

Alkazi is a favourite I am happy to take on, last seen when 3rd in the QE2 on Champions Day, he is still fairly lightly raced but that was a muddling race and I’m not sure the form can be taken at face value. Quddwah was well down the field but has since won here and ran well in Abu Dhabi last time. Maljoom and Dioptase ran no race that day and would need to bounce back. Maljoom probably has the best overall form in the race with last year’s 3rd in the Dubai Turf. Dioptase is a horse I backed on his first run out here and if getting an easier lead he could outrun his odds once again.

OUDDWAH (WIN)

16:35 MEYDAN

Heart of Honor is exactly that, all heart. He is often kept up to his work throughout his races but finishes with aplomb. This race is easier than his 3rd LTO and the Osborne’s could well be celebrating another big winner out in Meydan. Meydaan is of interesting switching to dirt but he isn’t bred for it and will likely be back in the field and therefore facing kickback.

HEART OF HONOUR (WIN)
