Kieran McHugh previews the best of Sunday’s action as he picks out his best bets of the day.
14:55- PONTEFRACT
Prague won the Joel Stakes last year and slow start cost him at Ascot. He was entitled to fluff his lines, with his second start from a break, and this race is easier. Point Lynas won this race last year and bettered Prague at Ascot. He’s also feared. A chance can be taken on Cicero’s Gift, on his return to his favoured distance of a mile. He was third in the Bet365 Mile at Sandown, behind Lockinge runner-up Dancing Gemini and Sun Chariot winner Tamfana. Alcantor and Haatem finished behind him that day and if he can replicate that form, he will be hard to beat.
CICERO’S GIFT (WIN)
15:07- UTTOXETER
Art Of Diplomacy has won his last two races, including a facile victory over course and distance on his latest start. He’s now on a career high mark but you would be foolish to discount him. Village Master is a likeable sort who has won eight of his ten starts over fences. He won whilst conceding lumps of weight at Warwick and despite being upped in class, he could improve further. Young Buster comes here off the back of a break, but he won by 24 lengths, at Kempton, when last seen. He’s only up 4lbs for that race, which was arguably more competitive, and he could put that to good effect today.
