Kieran McHugh selects one rubber from Plumpton and another racing at The Curragh as he aims to bash the bookies this Sunday.

Double Powerful has form in much more competitive races than this but has to carry a penalty for it. He was poor at Kempton though and needs to bounce back. Fountain’s Blenhein is a nice sort and makes his handicap debut today, there is every chance his mark is lenient. The nod goes to East India Express. He always gives a good account of himself, bar his last race at Cheltenham and he will like the ground today. Nicky Henderson has a good record here and his charge will be aided by his jockey’s claim.

EAST INDIA EXPRESS (WIN)

Twain makes his belated return to action in this, and the former Derby favourite will be intriguing, but it is best safe to watch how he fares off such a layoff. Beset was impressive here, over a furlong extra, last year and made a winning return in March. He can progress further. Royal Rhyme only ran twice last year but they were creditable performances in Group One company. If on song, he should win.
