The Skelton’s Service Minimum has been progressive lately and made her biggest step forward at Warwick, last time out. It would not be a surprise to see her improve further but a 10lbs rise is harsh. Equally, Sir Galahad is a consistent sort, who always seems to go well. His performance here, when last seen, was rather good and he can go well again. The vote goes for Miss Maverick. She is another who has been improving and a slight rise in the weights might not be enough to stop her. If ridden positively, she could upset the big two.

Potentially a shoot-out between the two, new powerhouses of the English National Hunt scene. The old veteran Gunsight Ridge could roll back the years and be ‘best of the rest’ but it is a two-horse race between American Mike and Riskinthegound. American Mike got back to winning ways for Sean Bowen and Olly Murphy, and he is capable of better. Riskintheground is the representative for the Skeltons and off the back of his performance at Haydock in a Grade Two, he should have the edge today.
