THE HOTLIST

Alan Morris kick starts the month with more runners worth noting. Here's the pair he's put up from last week's action. MOSSY FEN COOLIO (J & AJ O’NEILL)

Joyau Allen was too hot for Mossy Fen Coolio but it was an excellent second over 2m4f on chase debut from the latter in a big field that should throw up plenty of winners. The 6yo gelding won on his only point-to-point start and showed promise in a handful of hurdle races to think 110 underestimates his potential over fences and further in time.

RACE TO BASE (N SCHOLFIELD)

PTP winner Race To Base won a bumper and hurdle race for his previous stable and is finding his feet for Nick Scholfield. His third of five on seasonal debut may not shout promise but he ran on well off a modest pace behind fair opposition and wasn’t beaten far. His form so far has been over 2m and he was pulled up on his one run over 2m4f on debut for this yard, but he was subsequently second after a wind operation and we can’t dismiss his stamina on one run. He has a speculative entry in the Greatwood which does allude to some faith in the horse to exploit his current mark. CURRENT HOTLIST:
