TODAY'S TIPS (FRIDAY)

Dean Kilbryde is back and he heads to two of the UK's premier racecourses with action from Chester and York this Friday. 15:47 CHESTER

Miss Lady Grace breezed clear to win by over four lengths at Goodwood last week and is due to go up 9lbs in future races so it makes sense to attempt to follow up before the rise kicks in. She gets similar conditions today and continues the partnership with Alexandra Egan who can actually claim 7lbs rather than the 5lbs claimed last time out so everything points to another big run.

Berkshire Boom won here last summer, a race where the first seven home have all won since, and while he’s yet to fire in two runs so far this season he’s dropped a further 3lbs and his trainer boasts a strong record at the course so he would be dangerous to dismiss.

A number of in-form runners take their place, with five last time out winners amongst the sixteen-strong field. The one that appeals the most is Rathgar who arrives here on a hat-trick, unbeaten in two since being fitted with cheekpieces, and although has gone up 5lbs for his latest win he beat a next-time out winner in convincing fashion at Epsom when last seen, is proven over the trip and has made the frame in two from three at the course.

Antipodes improved for each run last season, winning at Windsor last June and returning there to win on reappearance last month. He’s yet to race over this far, yet the additional two furlongs promises to suit and he has favoured ground conditions so he rates the main danger.
