Sam King pinpoints Sandown as the venue for his best bets this Friday. See which two runners he’s siding with.
14:15 SANDOWN
Simon and Ed Crisford have been in good form of late and it wouldn't be at all surprising if Novelette can continue her progressive ways in the opening five-furlong sprint. A winner of a novice event at Yarmouth earlier in the season, Novelette quickened up well to make a winning handicap debut over course and distance in July. That form took a nice boost when the runner-up readily went one spot better at Windsor in a decent handicap sprint, while it's interesting connections had this well-bred daughter of Sioux Nation engaged in the Listed St Hugh's Stakes (ruled out due to dirty scope) at Newbury earlier this month.
NOVELETTE (WIN)
16:25 SANDOWN
The James Owen-trained Rogue Dynasty looks to have every chance in this three-year-olds handicap over the mile. The form of her runner-up effort at Yarmouth was well advertised when the winner followed up in fine style back at that venue, while the same can be said of her latest second at Newmarket, with the winner since going in again and the sixth-place finisher running well in a valuable York handicap. Stepping up to a mile should suit this daughter of Siyouni and she can edge proceedings over the consistent Cuban Girl, who ought to be involved on her first outing for Brian Toomey.
