Liam Hall previews Friday's racing across Scotland and Ireland as he previews the action at Kelso and Dundalk. 14:30 KELSO
A competitive looking handicap with many Kelso specialists returning. Both Berties Ballet and Heart Above for the Sayer team have good records here as does Ginger Mail and all are very much capable of being involved again. Travis Wheatley was sent off favourite last time when stepped up hugely in trip which clearly didn't work, the return right back down in trip should help. Chase A Fortune seems to be the most consistent of the field after probably putting in a career best performance last time when beaten by a Triumph Hurdle/Boodles contender, only raised a pound and he should be getting his head back infront here.
CHASE A FORTUNE (WIN)
16:45 KELSO
Lion Rose Sivola has started his career well, a ptp win followed by a bumper second, looks ready to go close again. Ar Ais Aris being by Walk In The Park ticks alot of boxes and should be pretty smart, second on debut in a ptp and therefore there does look to be ability in the tank. The Shanachie makes it's debut here but has a nice pedigree being related to Cole Harden, lack of bumper winners in the family is a concern but the trainer/jockey combo have struck a shrewd partnership and being by Workforce he should have the required speed to be competitive in bumpers.
THE SHANACHIE (EW)
17:30 DUNDALK
Heartbeat Supreme has achieved the most so far from this field, a pleasing third on debut but the step up in trip is a concern. Mount Eden got going far too late last time, should be more streetwise this time around but will be more competitive once up in trip. Spirit Honour ran far too green on debut but stuck to its task nicely, expect a big leap forward here with Colin Keane taking over.
