Alan Morris looks to Newcastle and Chelmsford for his best bets of the day this Thursday.

This race revolves around whether King Gris will turn out again after his victory at Hexham on Wednesday. That win looked to be harder work than the price suggested and after two quick wins on heavy it’s worth taking an each-way punt on Big Zouk, up in trip for an in-form yard. This point winner may ultimately reach his full potential over fences but looks a sold option to take on the favourite here.

Far Too Fizzy did followers of this column and The Hotlist a favour when gambled on over course and distance in late October and is only 5lb higher here despite that comfortable win. The colt can be forgiven his subsequent run at Wolverhampton when slowly away, a bit gassy and short of room. The 2yo has a good draw to exploit under Rossa Ryan. Kuiama should be the main opposition with Ceiren Fallon taking over but stall nine could compromise the chance of reversing form with the selection.
