It seems churlish to desert Paggane who has ran well for The Hotlist in three runs prior to a disappointing effort last time. She jumped right there at Doncaster and was held up in a hot race she couldn’t really get in to. She raced prominently in picking up two similar listed Mares’ chases prior to that but doesn’t appeal as a betting proposition at long odds on at first show, despite the return to a right-handed course. Point winner Jasmine Bliss jumped sweetly and ran well on chase debut at Kempton, looking a very promising prospect for Harry Derham after two hurdles wins but her career has all been with fences in mind on breeding and appearance.

Some exposed types and infrequent winners here. Isla Bella seems to be showing signs of improvement and this test could be the key at good odds for Joey Ramsden’s yard which seems to be finding its feet. Dubai Magic made the breakthrough two races ago but he disappointed last time and is unproven here. His conqueror that day, Up The Monk, won comfortably in a first-time visor and has been raised only 2lb for an in-form yard and trainer. As a previous course and distance winner he looks a solid option here, he’s the guy!
