Alan Morris looks to Thursday's action from Leicester and Taunton. 13:30 LEICESTER & 15:15 LEICESTER
The Laura Morgan yard looks to be back in form with some well-handicapped horses ready to strike over fences, particularly those with hurdling handicap marks for a yard associated with the pointing scene and chasing types.
Grandad’s Cap 13:30 and Classical Sting 15:15 look ready to go in again in a short-priced double. The former drops in trip under a penalty but is well in and the long tough straight at Leicester in this ground should make it a test. Classical Sting won well on chase debut on soft and may have faced a tough task even without a bad mistake four out but kept on to take second on good ground.
GRANDAD’S CAP - CLASSICAL STING (WIN DOUBLE)
14:40 LEICESTER
A modest Mares’ Handicap Chase with some disappointing types on parade. A Little Something is less exposed on chase debut, related to winners over fences and is respected for a good yard despite a poor point-point record. With some bookmakers paying three places an each-way chance is taken on Ginderella who hasn’t been with Tim Vaughan long and seems to enjoy testing conditions. The lightly-raced 9yo mare is off a basement mark of 76 and can progress past some ugly sisters here.
GINDERELLA (E/W)
15:25 TAUNTON
Celtic Art is in good form and a worthy favourite with plenty of Taunton form as well but it is a competitive class 3 and it looks tougher than his class 2 success here. Jack Hyde is also respected but Brentford Hope has plenty of back-class and proved well-handicapped in his Haydock win under Megan Fox. He was obviously flattered behind The New Lion but it was a good piece of placing and the handicapper hasn’t reacted.
