Alan Morris previews action from Sedgefield and Newcastle this Thursday as he pinpoints his two best bets. 15.40 SEDGEFIELD

A King Of Magic has been progressing well and beat a next time out winner last time in contrast to a couple of previous winners here who need to bounce back. He will need to be ridden closer to the pace if he can lay up, but Paul Nicholls is five from five at Sedgefield in the last two seasons and his conditional jockey has good experience of this unique course and is three from four here. The sole raider for trainer and jockey can strike again.

Woodraff is in good consistent form but has been turned over at short odds a few times and will be vulnerable at a short price. A few of these should improve for a drop to 7f but none more so than Esque Elegance who has struck up a good relationship with the promising Lauren Young and has just been missing out on over the stiff mile here. Some of those good runs have been in handicaps and the drop to classified company can see her break her maiden tag.
