Alan Morris gives his regular Thursday tips as he finds a trio to back to bash the bookies. 16.07 CHEPSTOW
So You Know looked ready for a step up in trip,, even in winning over two miles so it was understandable he was running on again under a 10lb claimer last time in finishing second. The yard are in good form and the 5yo gelding can progress again here.
Marlacoo and Beau Quali ran well last time and can go well too.
SO YOU KNOW (WIN) 16.15 KELSO
Dedicated Hero has been well supported already, down in grade after a breathing operation and 2m 4f should suit but he has a lot to prove after pulling up last time. It may not pay to take a literal reading of his chase second behind Cheltenham winner Meetmebythesea who ultimately won comfortably and stepped up in distance at the Festival. Feach Amach is a likeable winner but the Greenall/Guerriero stable are in good form with plenty of well-handicapped horses and the lightly-raced Guet Apens looks likely to improve again for the step up in trip. He had some time off after a purchase from France where he was rated 95 on the flat for Andre Fabre and with clever placing, a rating of 103 over hurdles he can ambush the top weight here.
GUET APENS (WIN)
19.18 SOUTHWELL
None of the lightly-raced horses are leaping off the page on handicap debut over the 7f here at Southwell and last time out winner Espanita looks a solid favourite for Charlie Johnston here. She won well at Wolverhampton after her promising debut second and can improve beyond this grade.
