Despite I’m Next’s excellent but apparently unexpected second here eight days ago he looks a short price from a wider draw in eight here, against two strong course and distance winners in Ventura Express and Tees Aggregates with the inside draws. Ventura Express is flexible in regards to tactics and has been ridden prominently to exploit a low draw here at Beverley before and may be able to just sit off the pacesetting Tees Aggregates.

Recent winner No Knee Never will be a warm favourite but Amateur race wins can be deceptive and a chance is taken that Beverley’s right-handed undulations will prove a different test to where he has shown form so far. An each-way chance is taken on Tees George, another course and distance winner for Adrian Nicholls who has been in good form. Maple is another threat to the favourite.
