TODAYS TIPS (THURSDAY)

Thunderous Love is in a good vein of form but has been getting up late in her races over 6f and with form on soft and at Southwell may be vulnerable on faster ground here today and Beau Jardine’s two course and distance wins have been on soft ground too. Clipsham La Habana has looked ready for a drop down to 6f and could run well under the promising Jack Callan, being out in front in a Hands and Heels race is a good place to be as it can be hard to galvanise the closers. First Company also races prominently and was 2nd in this race two years ago and is respected.

This will be a different task to Down To The Kid’s recent Southwell wins and the 6yo has a wide draw to contend with too. Superposition’s finishing effort at Pontefract was disappointing to see after a comfortable Southwell maiden win. Ata Rangi should be in the frame after a small rise in the weights following a course and distance win, gaining a good track position from a bad draw. That form is yet to be franked. The lightly-raced Arctic Dawn looked as if a mile would suit well when 2nd on comeback and with Richard Kingscote on board again from a good draw could break his maiden status.
