Sam King heads to Newmarket this Tuesday as he likes the look of two runners.

Talk Of New York created a mammoth impression on his debut at Kempton but looks short enough in the market given he pulled ferociously when beaten at Meydan last time. The obvious alternative is Richie’s Rocket, who with course form to boot, can take another step forward following his eye-catching fourth place finish in the Listed Spring Cup at Lingfield. He clocked an impressive time when scoring at the same venue prior and remains very much unexposed.

William Haggas and Tom Marquand have won this for the last two seasons and may well do so again with Hardy’s Hero. Well-placed to win twice as a juvenile last season, he rounded out his campaign with an eye-catching fifth at Newbury, keeping on well under hands and heels riding from off the pace in a race where it proved beneficial to on the speed. He should have more to offer this season and a mark of 80 may prove within reach. Dangers include both Sierra Sands and Startled.
