Former jockey Liam Hall previews three of Tuesday's races and gives his best bets for the day. 14:25 LINGFIELD
This contest looks on paper to be set up for the handicap debutants. Lilac Wine stepped up in trip for her final maiden and showed a bit more ability, this step up again is sure to help and is bred to get much further also. Mystic Maureen has shown very little but is bred to be much better, interesting to see the cheekpieces have gone on for handicap debut. Good Shot ran just okay in Maidens but is bred to be much better and this 10 furlong trip could be perfect, was withdrawn from the sales to continue running for the team so much more must be expected.
GOOD SHOT (E/W) 15:10 PONTEFRACT
The big race of the day is the Pipalong Stakes. Sparks Fly is the highest rated in the field and was third in a Group Three at Epsom but her very best form has come with sufficient cut in the ground so could be vulnerable here. Soprano has achieved the most out of this field in her career by finishing second in a Keeneland Grade 1, started this season off with a listed success but was found badly wanting in a Group Two at Royal Ascot, could bounce back here. Royal Dress was a Group Three winner last season and suffered sufficient interference when finishing behind Sparks Fly last time, she's often ridden cold early and needs things to fall her way but the stiff finish at Pontefract could give her the time she needs to get her infront.
ROYAL DRESS (WIN)

Command The Stars got off the mark at the second time of asking with a smart performance at Beverley, will need to find more to defy a penalty though. Legacy Rock is a smartly bred son of Kameko and is definitely worth a market check but would be a rare debut winner for the Dr Newland team. Karakula Dancer made a pleasing debut as he looked very green throughout, could use that experience to become a real danger here.
