TODAYS TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

In form pundit Dean Kilbryde previews Wednesday's action and pinpoints his best bets of the day.

16:25 KELSO

Serious Operator only raced twice last season and failed to fire in both, however at the price a chance can be taken on him now 1lbs below last winning mark and returning to a course where he is unbeaten in two. Regular jockey Paddy Wadge, who boasts a solid record over hurdles at the course, is booked to do the steering and I’m hopeful of a return to form.

Here Comes Georgie arrives in excellent form so shouldn’t be dismissed, although in 0-3 at Kelso and his best form has been over shorter trips than encountering here, while Rockview Consort also arrives on the back of a couple of promising placed efforts but has now gone over two years since his sole hurdles victory so could also prove vulnerable for win purposes.

SERIOUS OPERATOR (E/W) 16:53 BEVERLEY

Three-time course and distance winner Elegant Erin has to give weight to all, however was last seen beaten less than five lengths in a Listed contest (the Beverley Bullet) over course and distance last month and as a dual winner of this very race (won in 2022 off 84 and 2024 off 79) should only have to replicate her run her last time out to take the prize for the third time.

Julie Camacho does very well with her runners at the course so Hundred Caps, who boasts track and trip form of 121, also needs to be taken seriously despite a 4lbs rise for victory when last seen, while Emeralds Pride also knows how to win here (4 wins from 10 over CD) and arrives in good form, although a career high mark (6lbs above last win) and soft ground tempers enthusiasm somewhat.
