Perhaps a tad harsh on the rest of the field but it's not a ludicrous statement to suggest that the winner can only hail from a trio of horses.
Last-time-out rivals Handstands and Saint Davy renew their rivalry and over this much shorter distance. Despite not being as well fancied in the market I expect the Jonjo O'Neill trained runner to reverse the form.
Despite this both will have to contend with Cherie d'Am who hails from the in-form yard of Dan Skelton and looks the most likely to come out on top.
CHERIE D'AM (WIN)

James Owen's five-year-old Carlton is aiming to make it four wins in a row and looks to have plenty in his favour to do so. I couldn't put punters off the likely favourite but at a decent price Haliphon makes plenty of appeal. He may be a maiden from eight previous all-weather starts but showed promise when third just over three weeks ago. With the interesting jockey booking of Cieren Fallon he has a strong each-way claim.
HALIPHON (E/W)

Lets Go Champ produced a stellar performance to finish third at Cheltenham last time out and after struggling to get up the hill should appreciate this course and shorter trip. In what looks a very tricky race to call the ten-year-old is taken to go close for punters on the hunt for some value.
Of the remainder the improving course-and-distance winner Midnight It Is should be one for any shortlist.

Midnight Lion looks to be a rejuvenated animal after switching to Jim Goldie's yard. With two wins from two starts since moving stables his upward trajectory may continue as he aims to make it three from three.
Fellow course and distance victor Sol Cayo ticks plenty of boxes and should strip fitter since his latest run. The obvious danger to the selection.
MIDNIGHT LION (WIN)
14:10 CHELMSFORD
The two runners that stand out in this one are both making their course debuts and if either act well at this venue should make the frame.
First up is Windsor Pass who might be a 28 race maiden but has gone close on several occasions, especially over this trip. He filled the runners-up spot two weeks ago and could finally go one better.
The other is also a maiden having never tasted success in his 15 starts to date. Ravensbourne also finished in the money last-time-out and this drop in grade may be enough to see him make the frame.
WINDSOR PASS (E/W)
RAVENSBOURNE (E/W)

Top-weight Apiarist couldn't build on his win two starts back but wasn't far away when second most recently.
At a price Waiting All Night may prove better than he's shown of late and if recapturing his better form is worth a serious mention.
Although Urban Sprawl is yet to claim an all-weather win he's placed in all three previous course starts. Off a workable mark and from a yard that's bang in-form he's capable of much better than many may expect.

One Big Bang went off the clear favourite in a better race at Cheltenham on New Years day but failed to deliver when only picking up fourth spot. Connections are hoping he'll make up for that defeat and now dropped in grade has another strong chance.
Handicap debutant Rosscahill is an unbeaten, former course winner who has the makings of a very good horse. If he delivers convincingly he could find himself heading to Cheltenham come March.
Although the other two have clear chances it's Up For Parol that gets the nod. He returned from a mammoth 225-day absence to claim second at Sandown last month. Another horse who's been dropped in grade and should be able to produce a similar effort racing off the same mark.
UP FOR PAROL (E/W)
15:15 CHELMSFORD
Although he was the clear race favourite on both occasions We Never Stop has filled the runners-up spot in his last two starts. His mark is creeping up but now in Class 3 company can return to winning ways.
Of the remainder recent winner Brooklyn Nine Nine looks an obvious threat and might be an alternative for punters looking for a horse with better value.
WE NEVER STOP (WIN)

Triple Trade hasn't been anywhere near the form he showed last season but if trainer Joe Tizzard can work his magic and get the horse close to his best he could put his poor recent form behind him.
Having won six of his last seven starts it'd be foolish to dismiss the chances of Beat Box. Sure to put in another solid performance but a 10lb rise since his last victory should make punters a tad weary.
It's tough to be confident about any of the eight runners that are set to line up but the bottom-weight Ostrava Du Berlais just gets the nod. Venetia Williams is still picking up recent winners, especially over the bigger obstacles, and she could add to her tally with this seven-year-old mare who's aiming to make it three wins in a row.
OSTRAVA DU BERLAIS (WIN)
15:45 NEWCASTLE
Arantes Nascimento looked to have improved for his wind surgery when second over course and distance here last month. Below his sole winning mark and at the age of four has room for further improvement.
Callianassa has gone close in her last two starts and could be considered a tad unlucky. Might appreciate this drop in trip and looks the obvious danger to the selection.
ARANTES NASCIMENTO (WIN)
