TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

Saturday's live ITV action comes from Newbury and Newmarket and we cover every race in our TV Tips. 12:50 NEWBURY

The powerhouse of Godolphin are still riding high after their Guineas double and are pinning their hopes of El Cordobes here in ITV's opener. A winner last time out he deserves a shot at this level but his poor performance in listed company leaves him hard to decipher. More will be needed to take home first spot so place money looks the most likely outcome.

Former course and distance winner Al Aasy is another last time out winner and despite nearing the end of his career should put up a solid performance.

King's Gambit is somewhat of a course specialist with his only two career victories coming here at Newbury. Can build upon a solid effort in Qatar when last seen and is the worth favourite. Would be a shock if he were to fail to finish in the top three.

With eight runners still entered we're looking for one at an each-way price and we're hoping Tabletalk could be the one to side with. A close second over this course and distance last time out looks solid form and with a run under his belt he should be fitter this time around. With jockey Rossa Ryan booked for the ride he's capable of making the frame.

At much bigger odds Eydon could outrun his current market price.

TABLETALK (E/W)

13:05 NEWMARKET

Waleefy went off the short priced favourite when making his seasonal reappearance but disappointed back in fifth. Surely that run was too bad to be true and hailing from the bang inform yard of William Haggas more can be expected. That being said the Yorkshire based David O'Meara wont be sending his runner Leadman down to 'Flat HQ' unless they had a solid chance and although he's not the most prolific he's never finished outside of the top 4 in all of his turf starts. Could today be the day he finally claims his first success on grass?

Vicario and Dark Tornado make up the remainder of the shortlist.

LEADMAN (E/W)

13:25 NEWBURY

Based on their second in a listed race at Navan Ides Of March is hard to ignore. Wasn't far away when last seen and should be able to build upon that for the combination of Moore and O'Brien.

Despite never racing on turf Berkshire Whisper has been a convincing winner on the all-weather. If taking to the grass it'd be foolish to ignore the Andrew Balding runner.

Strong Warrior might be unbeaten but improvement will be required now competing at this level and looks likely to lose their 100% record.

Of the remainder Symbol Of Honour can be forgiven their latest effort, and a drop back down to six furlongs will certainly help. One to make the frame.

IDES OF MARCH (WIN)

13:40 NEWMARKET

A 5lb rise in the weights might not be enough to stop Art Market from claiming back-to-back victories and holds every chance of doing so; however it's the handicap debutant Fondo Blanco who catches the eye. Just missed out in a Novice contest when last seen, and this further distance could be the key to seeing him return to the winner's enclosure.

For punters looking for an each-way alternative Miss Collada might do far better than the bookies could have you believe.

FONDO BLANCO (WIN)

14:00 NEWBURY

It's tricky to be overly confident in such an open race, so we're on the hunt for a bit of value.

The likely race favourite Genealogy might only be so short in the betting based on their connections as he'll need to put his last run behind him and there are question marks over his fitness now returning from a 217-day break.

Nebras and Ernst Blofeld renew their rivalry after finishing second and third when meeting just over a fortnight ago. I doubt the form will be reversed, but neither looks like obvious victors.

At the time of writing Saddadd is an each-way price, so he seems an attractive proposition. His second over this track and trip back in April looks solid form with the winner holding an entry in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at the end of the season. A repeat of that run should see him go close once again.

SADDADD (E/W)

14:15 NEWMARKET

We're unlikely to see any superstars line up in this Class 4 contest but as such it makes it one of the most competitive of Saturday's ITV action.

A chance is taken on a lively outsider in the form of Redhot Whisper. The four-year-old gelding has failed to win in all eleven of his career starts to date but has shown glimpses of promise, especially on turf, where he's only finished outside of the top-four once in seven attempts on grass. As he continues to plummit down the weights and a return to turf should both stand him in good stead.

Classic Encounter is the obvious danger for the team of jockey Billy Loughnane and trainer George Boughey. A consistent type who's picked up a win and a second from their last two outtings and looks set to finish just as close this time around.

REDHOT WHISPER (E/W)

14:35 NEWBURY

You don't want to be overly dismissive of any horse's chances when previewing a race because the likelihood is they'll storm to victory and make you look foolish, yet there's a standout trio in this Group 1 contest and I'm bold enough to state the rest of the field shouldn't come close.

Tamfana finished just under 2 lengths behind Dancing Gemini when they faced off at Sandown last month. Tamfana gave the winner 1lb in weight that day, but this time around, David Menuisier's runner has much less weight to carry, and this could see a reverse of that result.

The only other runner who could seriously upset the party is Rosallion. Richard Hughes' charge is a multiple Group 1 winner who was last seen picking up a victory at Royal Ascot. By far has the classiest form in the book but their nearly a year on the sidelines is a slight worry.

Perhaps a bold prediction, but stick the trio in both combination forecasts and tricasts, and hopefully all three can make the frame.
