TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

The team previews all the live action from ITV Racing this Saturday as we look ahead to Haydock, Chester and York. 13:48 HAYDOCK

A competitive six-furlong handicap, although Durham Castle stands out as being a potential improver off a workable mark on his reappearance. Trained by Simon and Ed Crisford, who are operating at a 26% strike rate over the last fortnight, this son of red-hot sire Havana Grey couldn’t have won with anymore ease when bolting up at Goodwood in September. He’s up 9lb on this return to action, but handles cut in the ground, and could easily have more to offer. Fine Interview must be respected with Buick up following a promising seasonal debut third at Doncaster, while former course and distance scorer Trilby makes each-way appeal.

14:10 CHESTER

The sharp seven furlongs could play to the strengths of the Richard Hannon trained Witchhunter who was far from disgraced in a competitive handicap at Ascot last time out. Likes to be up near the pace and his low draw is also a huge positive.

Never So Brave should be there or thereabouts but the major concern is his lengthy absence from the track, if he's fit first time up he's a major player.

At bigger odds former course and distance winner Holguin could do better than expected as could Ian Williams' Purest Time.

14:23 HAYDOCK

No Half Measures put in a strong performance in a Longchamp group 1 last season and her first run will have primed her for this, any rain will enhance her chances. Leovanni won a group 2 at Royal Ascot last season and gets a huge pull at the weight due to being a three year old, William Buick has been in scintillating form so she's a huge danger, that said she has to overcome a 245 day layoff in which she probably won't be cherry ripe as Royal Ascot will be the target once again. Rage Of Bamby only has 1lb to find on ratings with No Half Measures albeit she was last on her return at York but there were excuses for that run, she was last on last seasons return too. Her form second time out reads 121 and has already won at this level so she looks a lovely each way bet, another who would appreciate rain.

RAGE OF BAMBY (WIN)

(Liam Hall)

14:40 YORK

Although perhaps a tad unfair on the other eleven entrants there's two standout competitors that look the most likely to be fighting it out for top spot.

Kevin Ryan loves a winner here at his beloved York and after a very impressive victory last time out Ventura Capital has a solid claim, especially with the eye-catching jockey booking of Ryan Moore. With a strike rate just shy of 20% whenever Moore and Ryan team up they've got a great chance of adding to that tally.

Another establishment that loves a winner at York is the yard of Richard Fahey. He's set to saddle Loom who wasn't far away when filling the runners-up spot in a 22 runner contest over this course and distance. A repeat of that effort for the lightly raced three-year-old should see him potentially go one better.

Former course victors Jm Jungle, Bergerac and It Takes Time look the most likely to trail the duo home.

14:58- HAYDOCK

An enthralling race with many contenders. Beautiful Love has chased home some classy performers, most recently, Sea The Fire. This is possibly easier, but she must concede 3lbs to her rivals. Estrange is two from three and she could have lots of potential. But her two victories have come on soft ground and so good ground today would pose a question. Shaha has only been defeated twice, once behind the smart Diamond Rain and the other in France, on heavy ground. She won well at Goodwood over this distance and could’ve won by further if she settled. She’s the selection.

SHAHA (WIN)

(Kieran McHugh)

15:15 YORK

Three strong candidates at the head of the market for this trappy small field Group 3 for 4yo+ fillies but hopefully Allonsy and Divina Grace can make this a true test for the main protagonists. The very lightly-raced Sueno will be fancied to turn the tables on the likeable Scenic after an unclear passage at Goodwood with Ryan Moore taking over this time. Last year’s winner Term Of Endearment should improve from a keen-running 2m Group 2 run out in Meydan and can progress again this term. The promising Jane Temple should not be dismissed at longer odds despite official ratings.

TERM OF ENDEARMENT (WIN)

(Alan Morris) 15:33 HAYDOCK Alyanaabi will be popular following his all-the-way success in the course and distance Listed Spring Trophy Stakes earlier this month. That said, he dictated terms out in front that day and at the forecast prices, a chance is taken on Kikkuli, who shaped as though he needed the run back in fourth. Harry Charlton’s runner was bumped coming out the stalls and lost his position a furlong out, but he kept on well enough under hands and heels. He wasn’t disgraced in Grade 1 company on his final start last season and looks overpriced. The talented Audience disappointed over six-furlongs in Meydan but is dangerous to ignore back up in distance at this level.
