With ten live races on ITV this Saturday we get stuck in to all the action from Warwick and Kempton plus a bumper race at Fairyhouse.
13:15 WARWICK
Without a win in close to two years but Pepe Le Mojo’s last success came over this trip around this time of year. A previous course and distance winner who showed signs of a return to form last time out and now resides off a very attractive mark.
PEPE LE MOKO (E/W)
13:30 KEMPTON
Precious Man’s second in a Grade 2 looks by far the best form on offer. A severe drop in grade now puts him head and shoulders above the rest and it’s hard to look elsewhere.
PRECIOUS MAN (WIN)
13:40 FAIRYHOUSE
Despite not producing great results of late Inthepocket had valid excuses each time. Having competed at a higher level he’s worth a crack in this company.
The King Of Prs took this race last year and looks an alternative if bouncing back for his shrewd trainer.
INTHEPOCKET (E/W)
THE KING OF PRS (E/W)
13:52 WARWICK
As the only runner with a course win to their name Doyen Quest has a strong chance for a yard who’ve trained the winner of this race for the last two years.
Although he’s got more weight to carry than the rest it’s difficult not to be impressed by unbeaten chaser Wade Out. If the burden isn’t too inconvenient his record could remain unblemished over the bigger obstacles.
DOYEN QUEST - WADE OUT (REV FCAST)
14:05 KEMPTON
A 4lb rise in weight may not be enough to halt the progress of the lightly raced Welcom To Cartries. A winner on chase handicap debut this looks a tougher test but it’s far from insurmountable.
WELCOM TO CARTRIES (WIN)
14:25 WARWICK
Without a win in three starts over hurdles so far a chance is taken on handicap debutant Dr Waksman. His best hurdling performance to date came at this trip so a drop back to this distance looks a positive step. Hard to be overly confident in such an open race but worth a small punt.
DR WAKSMAN (E/W)
14:40 KEMPTON
Trainer Paul Nicholls will love to claim a race named after one of his former stable stars and he could well achieve the feat with Kalif Du Berlais. Can be forgiven his defeat in handicap company last time out and now off level weights can return to winning ways at a course where he holds an undefeated record.
KALIF DU BERLAIS (WIN)
14:55 WARWICK
At his best Myretown is a serious animal but a handful of jumping errors has been his undoing. He jumped out to his left throughout his last race so hopefully a switch to a left-handed track should suit. This smaller field may also be advantageous so if he’s corrected his ability to attack obstacles he’s the one to beat however he’ll need to be close to his best with Mr Vango waiting to pounce.
MYRETOWN (WIN)
15:17 KEMPTON
Team Skelton have won a plethora of big Saturday handicaps this season and they look capable of adding this prestigious race to their tally. They’ve trained the winner of this race in 2023 and 2024 and are pinning their hopes of making it three in a row on A Pai De Nom. A winner of three of his four hurdle starts he remains on an attractive mark and still has plenty of room to progress. Will handle the large field as shown when winning a race at Cheltenham two starts back and this trip will play into his hands. Ticks plenty of boxes.
A PAI DE NOM (WIN)
15:32 WARWICK
Lord Snootie can be excused his latest effort which came after a 434 day stint on the sidelines and was over an inadequate distance. Hailing from an in form yard he should strip fitter for his recent return and as a course and distance winner will relish these conditions. Capable of going much better this time around.
