TV TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

Updated: May 13

We preview the live ITV action from the first day of York's three-day meeting plus one race from Yarmouth. 14:20 YORK

Stressfree may not win as often as some, but his consistency has been admirable and he has gone close on several recent occasions, including over this course. David O’Meara’s runners often perform well at York and the six-year-old looks capable of another bold showing.

Sing Us A Song remains lightly raced and represents powerful connections. After a solid third last time out, he looks capable of progressing further and should be firmly in the mix.

Klassleader is likely to head the market and rates the main danger, though current odds offer limited appeal from a betting perspective.

At bigger prices, Paddy The Squire and Dark Moon Rising are both capable of outrunning expectations.

Rocking Ends boasts a strong record at Yarmouth with a win and a placing from two previous starts here. The six-year-old returns from a spell in Bahrain, where results were mixed, but he now races below his last winning mark and looks capable of making an impact.

Nogo’s Dream ran well when second in a similar contest last time and, while not the most prolific winner, has enough consistency to suggest another placed effort is possible.

Course-and-distance winner Almaty Star and the Cheveley Park-owned Kinswoman also warrant serious consideration.

Rocking Ends appeals most if rediscovering his best form.

A competitive handicap with 22 runners declared and several holding realistic claims. Three, in particular, make appeal.

Pilgrim arrives in winning form after an impressive recent success and already has course-and-distance credentials. This represents a tougher assignment, but he appears progressive and should remain competitive.

Strike Red also returns here with strong York form, having won over this track and trip before. A recent victory suggests he remains in good order and he has previously scored from higher marks.

Kevin Ryan’s runners always command respect at York and American Style looks the standout from the yard’s entries. He shaped encouragingly when third on his return from a lengthy absence and should improve for that outing.

Kylian, Tuco Salamanca, Binhareer, Tropical Storm and Dark Cloud Rising are others worth noting in a deep contest.

American Affair enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season and, if returning in similar form after the winter break, looks attractively priced at double-figure odds.

Time For Sandals has the advantage of race fitness following a recent Group 3 effort and is likely to improve for that outing.

Kind Of Blue represents strong connections but has struggled for consistency, which tempers confidence.

Regional and Quinault both appeal as each-way alternatives capable of making the frame in what looks a competitive sprint.

American Affair looks the value option if fit enough on return.

Felicitas caused a surprise when winning last time but showed she deserved a place at this level. The unbeaten filly will need to improve again, though it would be no shock to see her maintain her perfect record.

Legacy Link brings the strongest established form into the race and, as the highest-rated runner in the field, deserves market respect. However, without a run this season, there is a question as to whether she will be fully tuned up for her return.

Sea The Storm looks the chief danger after an authoritative victory last time and should appreciate this step up in trip.

The pair could dominate proceedings.

It's hard to discount Al Najashi who seems like a completely different animal with five all-weather victories since the start of 2026. However in their only start on turf they finished last of 10 and now back on grass there's questions he still has to answer.

Hasbro Market is a lightly raced contender who's never finished outside of the top two in his four career starts to date and as such demands plenty of respect.

As a former course winner First Legion should make any punters shortlist and after an improved effort last time out could claim further prize money.

The one I'm siding with however hails from the yard of Kevin Ryan who has plenty of success here at the Knavesmire. Inishbeg represents the same connections as the recent 2,000 Guineas winner he can add to the owners success.
