BEST OF THE REST (SATURDAY)

Away from Saturday's live ITV action, Rory Paddock appreciates the evening's racing may not feature the star names of the afternoon's action, but he pinpoints a quartet of runners from Salisbury and Hamilton worth following.

19:10 SALISBURY

While William Haggas will have his focus firmly on Newmarket earlier in the day, his yard could round off Saturday with further success at Salisbury. Handicap newcomer Evening Fades makes plenty of appeal after an encouraging effort when last seen and now enters handicap company from what appears a fair opening mark. Open to further improvement and receiving a handy weight allowance, she looks capable of shedding her maiden tag.

Fellow handicap debutante Spirit Of Athene also commands respect but must overcome a 206-day absence, leaving her fitness open to question.

Last-time-out winner Shirakawa arrives in good heart and should also be firmly in the mix if building on that recent success.

EVENING FADES (WIN)

19:40 SALISBURY

Although only four runners are set to line up, this looks a competitive little contest with each of the quartet holding realistic claims.

Preference goes to Zen Diva, who impressed when making a winning seasonal reappearance and looks capable of following up. As the least exposed runner in the field, she remains open to the most improvement and should also strip fitter for that comeback effort, making her difficult to oppose.

Of the remainder, fellow last-time-out winner Charlie Boyo rates the obvious danger.

ZEN DIVA (WIN)

19:50 HAMILTON

Kaleido produced a much-improved effort when finishing second at Pontefract last month and it could well be that new trainer David O'Meara has found the key to unlocking further progress. Another bold showing looks firmly on the cards.

Handicap newcomer Lucky Camino appears the principal threat, having finished in the first three on each of his three career starts. The three-year-old remains open to improvement and, if benefiting from a recent gelding operation, has the potential to mount a serious challenge.

KALEIDO (WIN)

20:50 HAMILTON

Ibn Altheeb caught the eye when staying on strongly for third at Carlisle last time out, shaping as though a step up in trip would suit perfectly. With an extra two furlongs to tackle here, conditions look ideal for him to go two places better.

Mr Moonshine finished not far behind in the same contest and should get closer once again, although he may struggle to reverse the form.

Course and distance winner Spanish Hustle has been below his best recently but possesses enough proven ability around this venue to warrant respect.
