PLACEPOT PICKS (FRIDAY)

Rory Paddock aims to land a share of the Tote Placepot from Newcastle and Dundalk this Friday.

13:27 NEWCASTLE

BUNKER BAY finished second on his only start here at Newcastle and wasn't far away when placing in a novice hurdle. Could be easily overlooked and that might be a foolish step by punters.

13:57 NEWCASTLE

Although race experience might play a part it's hard to ignore the well-bred ASIA FORCE who represents a yard that's known for success with their youngsters.

14:27 NEWCASTLE

SUNDAY SINATRA's form figures leave a lot to be desired but it's worth noting that he makes a marked jump up in trip for what is their handicap debut. Wouldn't need to be much to play a part in this.

14:57 NEWCASTLE

ALBA DU BRATH aims to go one better than their first two runs when filling up the runners-up spot. This looks an easier test.

15:30 NEWCASTLE

GREAT MATES hasn't been given an insurmountable rating to kick off her handicap debut and looks capable of building upon her most recent success.

16:00 NEWCASTLE

Jockey Paul Mulrennan has partnered RORY in five of his seven career wins. The experienced rider now climbs back aboard and finds the horse racing off a very low rating. Don't ignore former course and distance winner LAURENS DREAM either.

15:25 DUNDALK

SPORTING HERO is a multiple course and distance winner who now resides off a mark lower than when he was last successful. Has an advantageous low draw, a capable jockey and is weighted to go close.

15:55 DUNDALK

SINBAD MY DAD claimed third spot in his last two starts and on both occasions looked as if a step up in trip would suit. Now trying out this longer distance for the first time it could be the key to his success.

16:30 DUNDALK

GOLDINTHESEA put in a strong late rattle to claim third on debut last month. Now over 1 mile and with racecourse experience under their belt looks set to go close once more.

17:05 DUNDALK

Of those with a previous run ASTRONOMICALLY ticks plenty of boxes in what looks a very open contest but it'd be foolish to discard the beautifully bred newcomer ECLAT.

17:40 DUNDALK

An open contest where a case could be made for half the field however former course and distance winner MORNING APPROACH has plenty in his favour and despite never claiming victory here at Dundalk IMPERIAL FIGHTER has shown enough to suggest his first course success won't be far away.

18:15 DUNDALK

Despite never claiming victory in 18 career starts ENDLESS DAWN has gone close here at Dundalk over similar trips and now carries a miniscule weight. Could tonight be the night?
