THE HOTLIST

After a week of solid action, Alan Morris picks out a pair of recent runners who've made it onto his hotlist and you should pay close attention to them in the weeks and months ahead. FLIGHTOFTHEPHOENIX (C HILLS)

Flightofthephoenix has shown improved form in recent runs,  breaking her long-standing maiden status with two wins in August. As a 4yo filly there is still scope for further improvement from a mark of only 73 having made the breakthrough as a winner. She has shown flexibility over most grounds and at Kempton but won well on good to soft at Ffos Las. We can forgive her run at Haydock last week, held up by an inexperienced amateur and running wide from a wide draw and never getting in to the race. 10f+ is ideal and she is flexible regarding the going.

DIPLOMATA (W HAGGAS)

Diplomata stepped up considerably on handicap debut at Haydock to ultimately win well after struggling to get a run, but the handicapper can’t be too harsh and the 2yo filly should be one to follow this Autumn. This win was over 7f on soft at Haydock so a mile should be fine at 2 and could stay further on breeding at 3. In her initial runs she reared upon starting and did a lot wrong but this meant a mark of 68 here and as she matures she can leave this long behind. Diplomata put this race to bed quickly once a gap appeared and looks one to follow. CURRENT HOTLIST:
