THE HOTLIST

Alan Morris returns with more hotlist additions as we ease past the middle of October. FIREBALL FRENZY (S EDMUNDS)

Fireball Frenzy ran well for a long way after 707 days off at Ffos Las on the usual tough ground conditions at the course. She won a point to point at Dromahane on debut from the interesting handicap prospect Funny Hunny, (who was one place ahead of her at the West Wales venue this week).

She has retained her novice status as a mare and can hopefully progress from this reappearance on soft ground. She is related to four 3m + winners including three very good winners. Hopefully she can take this well after such a long lay-off but may need another run to get a mark but could still run well in the right novice or maiden.

EQUI LIBRE (D SKELTON)

Equi Libre was bought for £40,000 at the Cheltenham April sale after a promising 3rd in a bumper for Tom Weston. Things have not been straightforward for the 4yo gelding in three quick October hurdle runs for Dan Skelton but he is finishing his races a bit better and settling quicker. He will need further runs before a handicap mark after a swift pulled up on yard debut and a last fence run out on second run. His dam was placed in two out of three French hurdles and was by Champs Elysees but there’s not a lot of clues from his breeding, yet he looks to have potential to improve from his inauspicious hurdling career so far.
