TODAY’S TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

Former jockey Liam Hall previews the best of Wednesday’s action and picks out three runners worth following.

14:15 CATTERICK

This looks a very weak renewal and I'm going to give newcomer Ghazalia my vote here, smartly bred and representing a shrewd operation this filly can hit the frame from stall 5. Shaniko holds the best form in the book but hasn't looked like one capable of getting it's head in front from four attempts so far, needs to be winning this if capable of defying a handicap mark of 70 in the future but wouldn't be a certainty at a likley short price.

GHAZALIA (E/W)

14:30 WOLVERHAMPTON

The choice here is going to be Premium Seat for a place. Ran far too green on debut to even take that run into the form book, the pedigree suggests this Colt should be capable of winning handicaps in the future off marks in the 70s which puts him right in the mix today if he can be a much better student today. He's Readyturumble and My Maria have been given a mark in the 70s and they shouldn't be far away. Lovely Dark Angel may be the best of these in a years time but has to overcome stall 11 which makes life very difficult.

PREMIUM SEAT (E/W)

19:00 NEWBURY

Bold Shout had ran well on his first two starts but took that form to a new level when winning last time after a gelding operation, this opening handicap mark looks lenient and he should take full advantage of it here. Artanis and Lion Of Mali both went close on handicap debuts but ultimately the handicapper looks ahead of them at the moment.
