Alan Morris pinpoints his best two bets of the day this Thursday as he aims to bash the bookies. 16:20 DONCASTER
In a similar shape to Boyfriend’s race Raedwald will be fancied to frank a dead-heat victory on handicap debut on polytrack with the first two well clear and an improving apprentice reducing the 6lb rise. At the early prices however Lone Piper looks good each-way value to improve for the drop back down to his previous winning distance of 10f and with scope for improvement after only 8 races.
LONE PIPER (E/W) 17:20 NEWMARKET
Parole D’Oro will be a warm order to get back to winning form after meeting trouble in the Britannia and running on in to 8th. The 3yo was also entered in a Class 2 here on Saturday and must be respected. Great Acclaim is running into form but I’m going to stay faithful to Boyfriend after a cosy win last time consolidated an excellent second to the Royal Hunt Cup winner on seasonal debut for the lightly-raced 4y.o. Hopefully we can get an early each-way price to give a safety net against the favourite.
