Paul Midgley is something of a dab hand at getting the best out of all-weather sprinters and Lethal Nymph looks ready to get back to winning ways for the handler. A winner of this course and distance early last month, he couldn’t have been much more unlucky when attempting to follow up nineteen days ago, travelling powerfully before struggling for racing room. He’s better-weighed with old rival Dark Cloud Rising now and can regain the winning thread.

LETHAL NYMPH (WIN)

Formerly trained by Ralph Beckett, Priapos had been steadily plummeting down the weights for Phillip Makin until getting his head in front over the mile at Newcastle last month. Returned to the same course and distance, he doesn’t look harshly treated off a 7lb higher mark given his previous exploits and in what looks like a winnable contest, he gets the vote to complete the double. Chief threats may come from Boubyan and Storm The Dug.
