TV TIPS (FRIDAY)

Live ITV action this Friday with races from Windsor, Market Rasen and Newcastle. 13:50 WINDSOR

It's unlikely Alinilam is going to reverse the recent form when finishing behind Hansard and the Gary Moore trained runner has a far better chance, especially with less weight to carry.

Be Aware represents the top yard of Dan Skelton and after finishing second in arguably a better race looks the one to beat.

The consistent No Questions Asked looks the most likely to trouble the selection.

BE AWARE (WIN)

14:05 MARKET RASEN

This veteran's contest looks like one of the trickiest races to decipher, and a case could easily be made for more than half the field.

Doyen Du Bar was a well fancied, odds-on favourite last time out and aims to gone one better this time around. The step up in trip should suit and I'd be shocked if he finishes out of the frame.

Mahons Glory isn't the most prolific but is a consistent type who has plenty in their favour.

Bill Baxter has shown glimmers of hope and picked up a victory already this term and should be there or thereabouts.

Course and distance winner The Flier Begley is another worth keeping a close eye on and if he gathers market support he should be taken seriously.

14:25 WINDSOR

Alfie's Princess returned from a mammoth stint on the sidelines to claim a comfortable victory and with a run now under her belt she should be fitter this time out. Despite having to carry more weight it shouldn't be enough to stop her.

Bluey and Hollygrove Cha Cha renew their rivalry after pushing each other close when last seen and are capable of making the frame once again.

For punters seeking an each-way alternative Malaita is racing off a decent mark and has performed well in better races. A consistent type who could pounce if some of the more fancied runners fail to deliver.

ALFIE'S PRINCESS (WIN)

14:40 MARKET RASEN

The Flaggy Shore was a very impressive winner last time out and deserves a crack at this level but this looks a much tougher task and she'll need further improvement.

Despite only winning a four-runner contest Reed Wine Supernova showed enough in that run to suggest she could compete in a race of this nature and looks a solid each-way option.

With a weight for sex allowance to aid her chances Lady Litigator is another not to ignore.

15:00 WINDSOR

Nemean Lion has done far better than most would've expected this term and a Grade 2 victory is a great achievement however the depth of that victory is questionable and although it may seem foolish it might be wiser to look elsewhere.

Potter's Charm wasn't far away in a very competitive affair last time out and a similar run should see him finish closer.

With 7lbs less weight to carry Take No Chances is worth taking a chance on. Has finished ahead of Potters Charm previously and looks to have a better opportunity than the odds might have you believe.

TAKE NO CHANCES (WIN)

15:20 NEWCASTLE

A fair amount of this 14-runner field have very attractive course records so it's going to be a tough ask trying to find the winner.

We try to narrow the field so horses who've won or placed here at Newcastle before and are racing off the same or a lower winning or placed all-weather marks should be paid closer attention.

We're then left with a shortlist of five and all of the quintet aren't the most obvious. Ten Pounds, Fivethousandtoone, Germanic, The Caltonian and Purest Time make the cut.

It's a race not to get too deep into from a betting perspective but a chance is taken on The Caltonian who hails from a yard in red-hot form, has a low draw and could cause a shock.

THE CALTONIAN (E/W)

15:35 WINDSOR

Knickerbockerglory wasn't far away when filling the runners-up spot at Sandown last month and has the ability to overturn the form with race winner Go Dante, especially with 2lbs more in his favour. The Skelton yard have a handful of runners in this contest who all have a chance but it's the ten-year-old we're siding with, especially with the 7lb allowance given to the promising young jockey.

Stablemates Live Conti and Great Fleet should be on any punters shortlist and top weight Wilful also has a viable claim.
