TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

Live action on ITV this Saturday comes from Haydock and Sandown as the Racing Daily team covers every race.

13:50 SANDOWN

Kerdos put in an impressive performance in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot and that is by far the best recent form on offer. The only concern is he’s not the most prolific having not won in over a year and at such short odds he’s not the best punting prospect. Likely to be there or thereabouts but lacks value.

Three-year-olds Adrestia and Queen All Star have serious potential but they need to step up having been competing in handicap company. The pair deserve their chance at this level and could make the frame if progressing.

At a decent price Balmoral Lady wasn’t far behind Kerdos at Royal Ascot and in this less competitive race should have an easier time. Her hold up tactics didn’t help last time out and if given a more positive ride looks an each way contender.

14:05 HAYDOCK

Valiancy has improved with each run and was an impressive winner of a maiden contest at Hamilton last time out. Now making his handicap debut he’ll relish the extra distance and looks hard to beat.

For punters looking for each way alternatives Way Of Stars and Last Galileo could outrun their odds and finish in the money.

VALIANCY (WIN)

14:25 SANDOWN

A very competitive handicap which sees likely favourite Greek Order come here after an excellent fourth in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot, entitled to be well fancied on the back of that, and shouldn't be too far away with Ryan Moore on board. Classic continues to frustrate but is always thereabouts, his form remains strong and should be involved again under first-time rider Sean Levey. Hi Royal was second in the Thirsk Hunt Cup but was well beaten off in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot, carries top weight, so is vulnerable. Tarkhan was a Listed winner in Germany, and if the rain does arrive, then this son of Soldier Hollow could be a huge threat at a big price as he'll thrive on underfoot conditions.

14:40 HAYDOCK

This might be one of the quickest previews I’ve written. It will be a massive shock if Estrange was beaten. The mannerism of her Haydock success was facile and has put her in the frame for Group One races. Scenic is her main challenger and won well at York (although over a mile and six). Shaha beat her at Goodwood and then was floored by Estrange at Haydock. Nuit and Love Talk must improve upwards of 20/30lbs, which isn’t happening. It’s that simple.

ESTRANGE (WIN)

15:00 SANDOWN

Despite just the seven set to go to post (with two being declared non-runners) it looks a competitive looking listed contest with all the major owners and trainers represented.

The two at the head of the market are Andrew Balding’s Blue Bolt and William Haggas’ Supermodel. With both winning two of their three career starts they’ve got plenty of ability and deserve to be some of the more fancied runners.

Of the two Blue Bolt has won at a higher level and would be taken to finish best from the duo.

This being said we have an unbeaten pair in the form of Suite Francaise and Victory Queen. Victory Queen was a tad fortunate to come out on top with the runner-up likely to have pushed her all the way if getting a clear passage but the unbeaten duo deserve upmost respect and it wouldn’t come as much of a shock if either upset the main protagonists.

BLUE BOLT (WIN)

15:15 HAYDOCK

A very close contest. My Dream World is a course winner and has been progressing nicely. He lost his win at York due to a whip infringement, and more can come from him. Plage de Havre is another that has a good chance. He’s been consistent and had no luck at York. However, a chance can be taken on Night Breeze. He’s mixed it with some higher-rated horses before, and he beat some of these at Ascot, with a commanding display. If he’s not too keen, he will be bang there.

NIGHT BREEZE (E/W)

15:35 SANDOWN

Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore have won three of the last four renewals so it would be foolish to completely dismiss Delacroix, yet in truth, he’s got plenty to find even in receipt of weight from the two market principals, Ombudsman and Sosie. The latter is a three-time Group 1 winner in France and is greatly respected, yet he’s never raced on ground this fast and is perhaps better suited to twelve furlongs, so it is the favourite Ombudsman we turn to as our selection. An impressive winner of the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot when last seen, both ground and trip are perfect for him to be able to excel again here today.

OMBUDSMAN (WIN)
