TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

Saturday’s ITV action comes from Sandown, Beverley and Chester as the Racing Daily team previews all eighth live races.

13:30 BEVERLEY

Crown Of Oaks is likely to be all the rage in this contest, this three year old runs off a mark of 85 with his full brother already winning an ultra competitive handicap off 99, meaning he could potentially be a stone ahead of the handicapper here, very tough to beat. Both Distinction and Precious Spartan have been steadily climbing the ranks and they could be big price each way chances here with the selection being Precious Spartan with the three year old allowance meaning he gets in off a low weight so could be worth a little each way play.

CROWN OF OAKS (WIN)

PRECIOUS SPARTAN (E/W)

(Liam Hall)

13:50 SANDOWN

Trainer William Haggas looks set for a solid Saturday and he has a great chance of kicking off proceedings with a win here in the form of Headmaster. Has done little wrong in his career to date but doesn’t represent the best value.

A chance is taken on top-weight Galeron who hasn’t faired as well since showing a glimmer of hope in the Lincoln back in March. If he’s capable of putting it all together on race day he should do far better than some may expect.

Of the remainder both Woroodd and God Of War could make the frame.

GALERON (E/W)

(Rory Paddock)

14:05 BEVERLEY

Clive Cox has won three of the last four renewals of this race so it seems sensible to begin with his duo of runners. Redorange has proven to be extremely consistent, making the frame in nine from ten including victories over both five and six furlongs. A solid second in a Listed race at Deauville when last seen, he’s unlikely to be too far away at the finish and at the time of writing can still be backed at an each way price.

Kerdos won this race in 2023 however finished three lengths and three places behind the re-opposing Regional when fifth in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot last season and was also behind that rival in the 2025 renewal of the same race. I don’t expect those placing to be reversed today – in fact, with the drop in class very much in his favour, I expect Regional will prove extremely tough to beat.

Today sees a big jump in class for Elegant Erin however she’s been running consistently well on turf this season and with a record of three wins and a second from six course and distance runs she could be worth a small each way play at huge odds.

REGIONAL (WIN)

(Dean Kilbryde)

14:25 SANDOWN

A hot race with many set to stake their claim for victory. Blue Bolt has won her last four, including her last over course and distance. She’s improving all the time and could take a step up to group level. Cathedral has been a tad expensive to follow but her fourth in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot is good form. She wouldn’t like to see any rain. The verdict goes to Flight. She was an excellent second in the Guineas and wasn’t far away in the Irish equivalent. Maybe a race too many at Ascot so if she can bounce back, in an easier race, it could put her on track for a nice autumn campaign.

FLIGHT (WIN)

(Kieran McHugh)

14:40 CHESTER

Despite not being the most prolific Tabletalk has been a model of consistency this term and now dropping into listed company can finally return to winning ways.

Alsakib should perform better than they’ve displayed so far and more can be expected this afternoon.

At a bigger price Orchard Keeper could outrun their odds for punters looking for an each way alternative.

TABLETALK (WIN)

(Rory Paddock)

15:00 SANDOWN

Saddadd has improved with each rub this term and finally got off the mark for the season in a competitive contest last time out. Clearly a horse on the up and with a weight for age allowance could be the one to beat.

The major danger comes in the form of Castle Cove who was a credible sixth in the Chesterfield Cup at Goodwood. If given a more positive ride this time around is sure to finish closer and could give the race favourite something to think about.

SADDADD (WIN)

(Rory Paddock)

15:15 CHESTER

El Burhan seemed to hate the extended 1m2f they tacked at Ascot last time out and will relish a drop back to this trip, especially at a venue they’ve won at previously.

However it’s another course and distance winner who gets the nod with Two Tempting winning both starts here at Chester. Both of those victories came over course and distance and both off higher marks. Weighted to go well.

Hawksbill looks best of the rest.

TWO TEMPTING (E/W)

(Rory Paddock)

15:35 SANDOWN

An interesting Solario Stakes complicated by the lack of soft ground form on offer. There’s enough wet ground form in the relatives of the main protagonists to avoid major concerns or strong opinions!

Pacific Avenue must be greatly respected having won well on debut, although his stable companion in second should have won they were well clear from a dual winner in 3rd who has won well again since and the 4th and 5th have also won.

Humidity’s Chesham has not worked out and A Bit Of Spirit’s mark looks overrated. He’s Waliim was impressive on debut and quickened well on fast ground and is a tempting price despite the ground here.

With the unfortunate and surprising defection of Publish the proven form of Pacific Avenue is supported here.

PACIFIC AVENUE (WIN)

(Alan Morris)
