TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

Seven races this Saturday from Ascot and Haydock as we preview all of the live ITV action to kick start the weekend. 13:25 HAYDOCK

Hurricane Pat and Old Park Star look head and shoulders above the rest and with only six runners entered there isn't even room to hunt for an each-way alternative. Although Hurricane Pat has achieved more by winning a listed race last time out it's hard not to be impressed with Old Park Star's demolition job when last seen and as such gets the nod.

OLD PARK STAR (WIN)

13:40 ASCOT

A dominant winner of a listed event at Newbury last time out looks strong form and La Conquiere deserves a shot at graded company.

The biggest threat comes in the form of fellow hattrick seeking Nurse Susan but the Jamie Snowden runner looks to have more room to progress.

LA CONQUIERE (WIN)

14:00 HAYDOCK

12 year old veteran Royale Pagaille showed he wasn't a spent force when claiming second in a Grade 1 back in November and still deserves plenty of respect at his beloved Haydock. Ignore at your peril but likely to find one too good once again.

Multiple recent winner Konfusion is a horse on the up and deserves a shot at this level. Will need further progress but likely to be there or thereabouts once again.

Despite a couple of falls aa chance is taken on Myretown who's wins have been very impressive. If he can stay on his feet he should take all the beating.

MYRETOWN (WIN)

14:20 ASCOT

Vincenzo hasn't finished outside of the top two in his last six starts and this extra furlong should be to his liking. A tough contest but worth following after the form he showed in the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

Top-weight Hitman, Bad and Scarface look the best of the rest.

VINCENZO (WIN)

14:35 HAYDOCK

Phantomofthepoints did far better than expected when claiming third in a more competitive race over course and distance back in November. A return to this track and trip is bound to suit and despite carrying slightly more weight shouldn't be enough to halt him from putting in a decent charge.

Course winner Solar System looks the most obvious challenger to the selection and if fit from a 301-day break can finish in the money.

PHANTOMOFTHEPOINTS (E/W)

14:53 ASCOT

Despite not finishing in the winners enclosure for a while both Faivoir and Metierr look overpriced for what seems quite an open contest. The pair have wins here at Ascot before and they reside off very attractive marks. Weighted to go close and if anything near their best have far better chances than the bookies might have you believe.

FAIVOIR (E/W)

METIER (E/W)

15:30 ASCOT

Given the career he's had it'd be foolish to rule out Jonbon completely however he came up short to Il Etait Temps last time out and it's hard too see the form being reversed.

Thistle Ask could potentially produce more than expected but would need to improve and hope for one of the main protagonists to falter.

IL ETAIT TEMPS (WIN)
