BEST OF THE REST (SATURDAY)

Rory turns his attention away from Saturday's Ascot action and gives his best bets from around the courses. 14:49 REDCAR

This looks a weaker contest than Mission Command has competed in of late and he can finally return to the winners enclosure. A long awaited return to the winners enclosure looks to be on the cards.

Reservardo hasn't been out of the top three and looks set to finish in the money once again and seems the biggest threat to the selection.

MISSION COMMAND (WIN)

15:21 REDCAR

Profitable Edge hasn't been at his best in two starts this term, but I'm hoping a return to this track and a drop in weight could see the five-year-old improve. With experienced jockey Andrew Mullen in the saddle, also aiding the selection's chances, he's capable of producing a better showing.

Burning Cash has a big run in them and might outrun their price and Azure Angel also has a clear chance.

PROFITABLE EDGE (E/W)

15:45 NEWMARKET

An Outlaw's Grace disappointed on his seasonal reappearance last time out but he should come on for that run and will appreciate a return to six furlongs. Represents a top yard and with an easier task at hand having been lowered in grade he's capable of finding himself in the mix.

Stablemate Circe has been a consistent runner this year and is the biggest danger.

AN OUTLAW'S GRACE (E/W)

15:50 DOWN ROYAL

Looks to be a two horse race between the former course and distance winner Navy Waters who looks to be a horse on the up and the Donnacha O'Brien trained Sound Of Lightning. The trip should be ideal for both but with a weight for age allowance in favour of Sound Of Lightning the slightly more fancied runner has to be the bottom weight.

SOUND OF LIGHTNING (WIN)

16:30 DOWN ROYAL

Despite not being the most prolific it's hard not to side with handicap debutant Acapulco Bay. Has competed in much better races this season he should be way too much for his six rivals and looks the obvious choice.

Kimeaden looks the best of the rest and should be the one to follow the selection home.

ACAPULCO BAY (WIN)

18:33 AYR

Superior Council finally took home their first victory at the nineteenth time of asking and should make it back to back wins. Paul Mulrennan's experience should play a part in what looks a weak race, however Harry Palmer looks an each-way alternative for punters looking for one at a bigger price and represents better value that the likely favourite.

HARRY PALMER (E/W)

19:08 AYR

Giselles Izzy has been knocking on the door in a handful of outings this season and it looks like connections have finally found a race she can win. Capable at this level and shouldn't be put off by a return to seven furlongs. The clear and obvious one to side with.

Pinjarra has been improving with each run in 2025 and seems the clear threat.

GISELLES IZZY (WIN)

19:38 AYR

Trainer Charlie Johnston has his horses firing and the yards purple patch could continue with Anthropologist. He wasn't far away last time and indicated this shorter trip would suit. A clear chance of making the frame and could pounce if either of Mecca's Symphony and Coeur Jaune fail to live up to expectations.

ANTHROPOLOGIST (E/W)

19:45 HAYDOCK

Mudamer went close when last seen just over a fortnight ago and is now racing off a very attractive mark. If the ground continues to dry the chances of Geoffrey Harker's runner will only improve and looks the obvious choice in a race that isn't stacked with talent.

Bajjan Bandit won this race last year but the handicapper has them in their grasp and Helm Rock would have a serious chance if the ground had any sort of cut.

MUDAMER (E/W)

20:45 HAYDOCK

I hate to be a 'party pooper' but I think Pomme Pomme's winning run is going to finally come to an end at the hands of William Haggas' Tuesday's Child who makes their handicap debut. This extra few furlongs should be to the maidens liking and she can take her first career win here.
