FROM THE OFF

Pundit Liam Hall takes his weekend look at all the maiden action and tries to find a horse or two who can claim their first career success. SATURDAY 15:57 FAIRYHOUSE

Walks In June who impressed on debut in an Irish point was sent off favourite for a Leopardstown bumper and finished a staying on third, took a while to pick up that day and his pedigree has stamina in abundance so winning a bumper might not be the easiest thing to do for him. Theflyingking was also a beaten bumper favourite after winning an Irish point on debut, the front two pulled well clear but he was out battled on the run in. Out of the newcomers Moon Eclipse could be the most likely, related to a bumper debut winner and with a nice mix of national Hunt and flat pedigrees, if she knows her job on debut she may be the value in the race.

SUNDAY

16:05 NAAS

Jericho Du Fenoir is a half brother to a Champion hurdle winner but has been a non runner on both of his expected starts, if he lines up this time then he could hold a fair bit of ability. American Jukebox finished second last time out, looked to be going on to win but after getting squeezed up he showed greeness, should have learnt plenty from that experience and could take another step forward.

16:22 FONTWELL

Crackerjacque showed a good attitude on debut when finishing fifth, will have learnt plenty for that debut and being related to Sam Brown he could take a good step forward from that. Edward Sexton was runner up on debut and was only just beaten by a smart horse, likely favourite. Karma Police will be well fancied also after winning an Irish point, that said, it was only a four runner point with two pulling up, the runner up has appeared in a bumper since and was beaten over 148 lengths so the form on paper wouldn't be very strong at all.
