Alan Morris gives his weekly roundup as he takes a look back at the last seven days and gives two horses you should be taking note of. POISON ARROW (R Spencer)

The well-named 2yo Poison Arrow looks set to be another horse Richard Spencer and Phil Cunningham can get a good tune out of. An expensive full brother to two good winners and a half brother to Trefor, he was strong in the market and touted before his promising fifth on debut. From a wide draw he broke and travelled well and, after running a little green, he ran on well under a considerate ride on debut but the impressive winner Hilitany had flown. 6f/7f looks ideal on breeding  Fine Art Dealer ran a similar race on debut for William Haggas in the same race and should also be monitored.

Art Lover also saw the rear end of Hilitany in a novice stakes and went one better when winning impressively at Ffos Las. The 2yo colt was stepped up to a strong nursery at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting and after being covered up from a poor draw found plenty of trouble before running on. The 6f win on good to soft at Ffos Las confirmed the opinion here that 7f would be no issue. Many ‘unlucky’ losers turn out to be fakes but previous winners can be given another chance to prove they are genuine. CURRENT HOTLIST:
