Alan Morris gives his weekly duo of recent runners that punters need to pay close attention to in the weeks and months ahead. CASTLE ROCK (C APPLEBY)

Castle Rock had some solid wins and form in a short 2yo career and made a promising comeback this week over 7f, finishing second at Newmarket. The 3yo colt travelled well, hit a flat spot and ran on again in a fair Class two handicap. There aren’t many breeding signals of stamina beyond 7f and he could have another try at a stiffer test over 7f on this evidence before considering the mile.

WANDERLUST (FR) (I JARDINE)

Wanderlust has been finding his feet for Iain Jardine this season following a 44000 gns purchase from Andre Fabre’s yard. The 4yo gelding has been around the houses trying to avoid firm ground but not all those who wander are lost and he could sneak into a 0-80 and be more competitive on autumn ground. He has been running respectably and 10-12f looks ideal. A jumps campaign could also be in the offing. CURRENT HOTLIST:
