Alan Morris returns with his weekly rundown of recent runners and pinpoints a pair you have to add to your racing trackers. KODI FIRE (C HILLS)

Kodi Fire has dropped down the handicap after a few defeats but has shown enough in three runs this season to suggest he is not a forlorn hope and can pop up at rewarding odds.

The 4yo gelding hit form last season with a hat-trick of wins over 7 and 8f around Brighton, Salisbury and Windsor. After a promising comeback he ran a poor race at Salisbury from a wide draw but showed more at Brighton recently. He was held up off a slow pace by an inexperienced Amateur at the tricky course but made an encouraging move in to the race before feeling the effects of quickening from behind whilst the front-runners went again. Kodi Fire looks ready to strike over a mile in a class 5, possibly back at Brighton.

GET OUTTA HERE (D MENUSIER)

The well-bred Get Outta Here is progressing nicely from an attractive handicap mark and looks set for further success. Wins may not be straightforward as he doesn’t seem to do a lot in front and may be fortune to exaggerated hold-up tactics, but that should mean he shouldn’t go up much for winning! The 3yo gelding won under Jamie Spencer at Lingfield and looked set to go in again for Jack Doughty under a good ride at Goodwood and hit the front very late on but lost by a nose. He did play up a bit in the paddock last time but lost in a photo and it is early days. He could also go well at lucrative each-way odds in some bigger fields in time. 1m looks fine for now.
