TODAY’S TIPS (MONDAY)

We kick off the week with two selections from Southwell as pundit Matt Polley pinpoints two runners not to ignore.

15:30 SOUTHWELL 

There’s a few in here with the potential to be much better that their marks, notably, Roc De Fer and Sun Lord, but none more so than Seraglio Point.

This son of Golden Horn is all about stamina. His dam won over this trip and further, and this step up to almost a mile and a half, on a galloping track on handicap debut, should be ideal.

SERAGLIO POINT (WIN)

16:00 SOUTHWELL 

Sagremor has been improving with every run and step up in trip, while Venetian Lion and Topathemorning are both interesting on handicap debut.

It’s another handicap debutant that looks the most interesting from the Roger Varian yard, and that’s Back At One.

It appears that after his debut run, that handicaps have been the objective, and that his latest effort at Newcastle showed his progress.

His opening mark looks attractive, and he looks the way to go.
