TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

Live action on ITV this Saturday with seven races from Uttoxeter and Kempton including the Midlands Grand National. 13:50 UTTOXETER

The JP McManus owned Thanksforthehelp took home a top-class handicap over in Ireland not too long ago and despite not producing the same quality in their last four starts since he's got plenty of talent and runs off an attractive mark for trainer David Pipe.

Former course and distance winner Below The Radar has been pretty consistent and can throw down a serious challenge.

Despite the smaller field size it doesn't look any less competitive with a case to be made for most, if not all, of the entries.

As such a chance is taken on one of the lesser fancied runners in the form of Rightsotom. He finished less than a length behind a horse who went on to win at Cheltenham earlier this week and the form of that contest now looks very strong. A drop in trip looks to be something the horse has needed for a while and if Tom Bellamy's hunt for a girlfriend can be put on hold the jockey can add another success to go with his Cheltenham victory.

The current race favourite A Pai De Nom deserves their spot at the head of the market but is far from a certainty in what looks a wide open contest.

Fellow Skelton runners Hidden History and Just Golden can upset their more fancied stablemate and demand respect.

Another pair at double figure odds Santos Blue and Doughmore Bay should also make any punters shortlist.

Of the quartet mentioned it's Doughmore Bay and Just Golden who get the nod as each-way alternatives.

La Pinsonniere has been competing in listed company in their last few starts and peaks the interest now back in handicap company. If the six year old can overcome their mark then he can finish in the money.

Trainer Gary Moore has a great record at his local track here at Kempton and the unexposed La Tiep's Sacre could have snook under the radar. The concern however is the 373 day stint on the sidelines but if the yard have him fit and raring to go his upward trajectory can continue.

After claiming third spot in the Scottish Grand National Git Maker hasn't been seen to the same effect but back at a marathon trip the ten year old has plenty in their favour and should be there or thereabouts in another major national.

For punters hunting for horses at bigger odds Grand Albert might be a solid alternative. Donald McCain's charge was staying on nicely at Haydock when last seen and indicated this longer trip could be right up his street. Hailing from a yard with a prestigious record with their staying chasers he can go well.

Irish raider My Immortal and former course winner Aworkinprogress cannot be discounted.

Ryan's Rocket had an entry at the festival earlier in the week but just missed out as a first reserve. The eight year old actually had a fair chance at Cheltenham and this is arguably a much weaker contest and as such is taken to add another course victory to his tally.

If the selection fails to deliver then Califet En Vol is sure to be the most likely to pick up the pieces.

Although trainer Nicky Henderson has had much higher profile races to focus on this week he's got a great chance of a weekend winner in the form of As The Fella Says. The seven year old appreciated a return to this trip when winning comfortably last time out and a repeat of that effort should be enough to see him claim back to back wins.

Milcree and Goldeen Point are obvious threats with the pair both winning their last two starts and are aiming to make it a hat-trick.

A chance is taken on Henderson and Russell's runners to fill the top two spots.
