TV TIPS (SATURDAY) - EBOR MEETING DAY 4

The fourth and final day of York's Ebor Meeting sees another five races on ITV, plus a bonus of two contests from Chester and we preview them all right here. 13:50 YORK

A tough race to decipher kicks off the final day of the meeting, with a case easily made for at least half of the field.

Punters should approach this contest with a degree of caution as it's difficult to be overly confident about any of the runners. However, Expanded makes plenty of appeal despite remaining winless this season.

The Ballydoyle runner has improved markedly this term and, if stepping up in trip can unlock further progress, he could provide his powerful connections with another winner on the Knavesmire.

Course winners Hankelow and Archivist both hold strong claims, while Damysus and Persica are another pair who look capable of playing major roles.

At bigger odds, Jonquil is more than capable on a going day and shouldn't be discounted by punters searching for some value.

In a wide-open opener, Expanded gets the each-way vote.

This is perhaps one of the most interesting races of the entire meeting, with a strong contingent of Irish raiders heading to post.

If you recognise the silks set to be worn by Saffie Osborne aboard Willie Mullins-trained Sharkeyboy, it should come as no surprise. The famous blue and green colours were carried to numerous Grade 1 victories by top-class hurdler Hurricane Fly.

Owner George Creighton passed away in 2019, but his family have continued their involvement in racing and those famous silks live on. Although Sharkeyboy is unlikely to scale the same heights as Hurricane Fly, the four-race maiden showed enough on handicap debut to suggest there's more to come. Given the quality of his trainer, it would be foolish to underestimate his chances.

Fellow Irish raider Limestone landed a Group 2 contest at Royal Ascot before failing to deliver in Group 1 company last time out. Now making his handicap debut, he boasts arguably the strongest form in the race and, if capable of defying top weight, looks a major player.

The best hopes of a home victory could come from recent winners Infraad and Into The Light, with both appearing firmly on the upgrade and representing powerful yards.

Elsewhere, Mythical Bay and Probation look best of the remainder for punters searching for runners capable of outperforming their odds.

Limestone sets a strong standard on form, while Sharkeyboy could prove better than his opening handicap effort suggests.

This Group 1 seven-furlong contest looks wide open, with Notable Speech and Lake Forest currently vying for favouritism. Although both are major players, there's enough strength in depth to suggest greater value can be found elsewhere.

Searching for each-way alternatives, Ten Bob Tony and Satono Reve tick plenty of boxes.

Japanese raider Satono Reve has gone mightily close in some major contests this season and continues to perform with plenty of credit at the highest level. If returning to this extended seven furlongs can bring about further improvement, he looks generously priced.

Ten Bob Tony may have finished fourth last time out, but he wasn't beaten far in what was a star-studded line-up. With the likes of Bow Echo and Gstaad only narrowly ahead of him, a repeat of that performance could easily see him involved in the finish.

Of the remainder, Paborus looks to be a horse on the upgrade and, although more will be required now stepping into Group 1 company, he could outrun his odds and sneak into the frame.

In an open contest, Satono Reve and Ten Bob Tony look the most appealing each-way options.

The big race of the meeting is finally upon us and it would come as no surprise to see the same owner and trainer combination retain this prestigious handicap.

Willie Mullins saddles Love Me Tender, who makes his handicap debut following almost 300 days on the sidelines. This will also be his first appearance for the yard following success in his native Germany and, although there are obvious questions surrounding the lengthy absence, it would be foolish to write him off. Mullins has repeatedly demonstrated his ability with horses of this type and Love Me Tender could have plenty more to offer.

Emit currently heads the market and, following a string of solid performances this season, looks likely to go close once again. However, the four-year-old remains without a victory this term and at the prices he could be worth taking on.

Former course-and-distance winner Tarriance demands respect, while Glorious Goodwood victor Hopewell Rock is another who shouldn't be far away.

One at a bigger price who warrants serious consideration is last year's fourth Stressfree. David O'Meara's runner isn't the most prolific of winners, but there's a suspicion this race has been the target for some time and he returns to the contest from a very attractive mark.

Love Me Tender could prove an interesting recruit for the Mullins yard, while Stressfree looks capable of improving on last year's fourth at an attractive price.

Air Force One was successful earlier in the week when landing the Hong Kong Jockey Club World Pool Handicap over five and a half furlongs and looks capable of playing another major role.

Geoff Oldroyd's runner must compete from a 5lb higher mark under a penalty for that victory, but the extra weight may not be enough to prevent another bold showing.

Toca Madera finished two places behind Air Force One in third earlier in the week and, meeting his former adversary on more favourable terms, could get much closer this time around. However, he appeared to be fading in the closing stages of that contest and the step up in trip raises enough doubts to look elsewhere.

At a bigger price, Clive Cox's Flash Harry makes plenty of appeal. He endured a troubled start when stumbling out of the stalls at Goodwood but still managed to finish a respectable ninth of 27. In what looks a slightly weaker contest, he could fare considerably better on the Knavesmire.

Evening Saigon and Stratusnine look best of the remainder and both warrant close attention, particularly if attracting market support.

Air Force One is taken to continue his excellent week, while Flash Harry could reward each-way support at a bigger price.
