Alan Morris looks back at last weeks racing and pinpoints two horses that punters should follow. Don't ignore our current hotlist.

FUTURE CUTLET (K Jewell)

Future Cutlet’s previous connections thought he would stay a mile or further after a 7f win on soft ground at Down Royal last September, and his breeding and run style back that up. After switching to Karen Jewell and Britain in the Spring he has now run four respectable races held up over sharp 7f tracks and didn’t seem at ease down the outside at Epsom recently. He may slip down a pound or two further from his current mark of 70 and could drop in grade over 1m or a softer surface 7f to gain a first success for his current yard.

SILENT CITY (R Varian)

It will be interesting to see what the handicapper rates Silent City, but there could be potential for an attractive mark based on her runs so far. The 3yo filly had a comfortable win in a modest maiden sandwiched between two promising, quiet performances under an inexperienced apprentice who did well to settle the keen-going filly to finish off her races at difficult tracks. A mile should be fine at this stage but with potential to improve for 10f on breeding.
