Alan Morris looks back over last weeks action and picks out his weekly pair of horses you need to pay close attention to. FIRE FLAME (R Varian)

It has taken time for Fire Flame to cool and settle in his races and understandably he’d been kept to 6f until his breakthrough performance at 7f when travelling well to win cosily at Thirsk this week. That skill and patience should be rewarded further and turning tracks over 7f  including the all-weather could be  good options, hopefully with favourable draws! This win was only off 72 in a fair class 4 handicap and there is scope to progress.

GREGORIANS STAR (S West)

Sheena West does well with her dual-purpose horses and Gregorians Star made a winning debut in a Ludlow bumper that worked out well. His early hurdles form didn't quite match that but he has two third places since settling better and a rating of 99 to exploit. After three low-key qualifying runs on the flat the 4yo gelding predictably improved up in trip to 1m3 1/2f in a low-grade handicap held up and running in to a respectable 3rd at Lingfield off an exploitable mark off 50. There should be plenty of opportunities across the flat, all-weather and jumps calendar to fashion the right chance for Gregorians Star. CURRENT HOTLIST:
