Double Measure ran on well on his bumper debut to win over 2m at Uttoxeter last season and is probably in a few notebooks after staying on twice now in 2m novice hurdles under what looked like some considerate optics. He may well be able to tot up a 2m novice before stepping up in trip on handicap debut.

SIZABLE SAM (J SCOTT)

Sizable Sam doesn’t have a huge number of miles on the clock for a horse rising 11 but is falling to a more realistic mark from his heyday. After an unfortunate unseat at the first under an Amateur at Cheltenham on seasonal debut he had a confidence-boosting run over a trip short of his best at Exeter this weekend. He maybe able to drop down a grade and feature soon over 2m 6f+
