COCONUT SPLASH (N ALEXANDER)

I was never truly sure what Coconut Splash achieved in a long succession of placed efforts in small-field chases and he seemed badly-handicapped as a result. After a long lay-off and a switch of yards the 10y.o has run two respectable races over hurdles and has shown just enough to suggest Nick Alexander can find an opportunity from a much-reduced mark. He was held up at Kelso on Sunday in a race that suited two prominent runners on the up that many couldn’t hold a candle to. Remarkably he is still a novice over fences but a small step up in trip over either discipline could end the long wait between drinks.

THANKYOUANDPLEASE (S HOSIE)

The lightly-raced 5yo has some reasonable placed performances to hint that there is scope for a win from a low mark of 96 with the potential to improve over further in time. The yard is getting closer to a winner since getting the licence back and Thankyouandplease has a few entries this week over 2m and 2m 4f and you can thank me later!
